Filters

Even in this modern age of digital imaging, outdoor and nature photographers still need to use the occasional filter. Polarizers are by far the most used filter. We no longer need to use warming filters or other filters that compensate for the color bias of a film, that's all done in the camera now. Similarly, there's not much use for colored filters as any color filter gimmickry is more easily done in the computer.
But there are filters that help us capture the entire tonal range in a scene as well as to record the passing of time or to help control depth of field effects.
I've written several articles about filters and you can find these on my Articles Page.
